How to get your OpenAI API key

  1. Go to platform.openai.com and sign in (or create a free account).
  2. Click your profile icon (top-right) → Your profile → API keys.
  3. Click + Create new secret key, give it any name, then click Create.
  4. Copy the key immediately — it is only shown once.
  5. Paste it into the field above. You will be charged only for what you use (a typical question costs ~$0.01).

Privacy: Your API key is forwarded to the backend only to call OpenAI on your behalf. It is never stored, logged, or transmitted to anyone other than OpenAI. We have absolutely no record of it.
